Mobile performed in Toronto at MTV on September 22, 2008. Their #1 song, "Out Of My Head" was the most played song in Canada in 2006! Over a cup of coffee, I had the priviledge of interviewing the head lead singer of the Mobile Group, Mat Joly. I couldn't help myself but to ask this question, "what were you thinking when you wrote the song "Out of My Head?" The lyrics, " I must be out of my head, it must be something I said, so come on - I'll waste my life on YOU!" just seems as though it was about a girl! Is that true? After laughing it off, Mat Joly explained, " it has nothing to do with a girl". He paused, "people are so obsessed with other people's lives, their success (i.e. celebrities) and most often people do not concentrate on their own life". I sure agreed with that, people concentrate on other people's success beside their own. Mat laughed, "I was told that I was never going to be a star from a record company before, can you believe it!" I shook my head, " What did they know". I shared a similar experience. Its unfortunate that people will put you down for their own benefit and will try to take success away from you. The wise thing would be to do is to learn from someone who is on their way to success or already has succeeded. Congratulations Mat!!

Mat Joly has one of the most amazing voices. Mat laughed, " when I write my songs, I try to relate it to my personal life". The Mobile Group will be releasing their new record in Oct 7, 2008. The new record album concentrates more on darker songs that are influences of their personal experiences. They will be starting their tour in a few weeks in London, Ontario and moving all across Canada for the next 1-2 years. If you like to see The Mobile Group perform, look out for their free shows in campuses across the country. One thing that I always ask celebrities in my interviews is, " Tell me what success means to you and what advice you can give your viewers on "making it". Mat said, 1) be hungry for success 2) Be true to yourself and believe in yourself 3) Most importantly don't let anyone tell you that your not good enough.
